    Description

    An 1849 Eagle from the Philadelphia Mint. This pre Civil War Gold coin has been certified, encapsulagted and graded AU About Uncirculated details by NGC, a top service. The holder notes that only the Obverse is original as
    the Reverse has been cleaned at some time in it's 172 year history. Nice color with some luster on the obverse and the luster is slightly diminished on the RV. No distracting marks or blemishes and a nice sharp strike. This is the variety 1, no motto 1838-1866; the first time the Ten D. denomonation was placed on the Eagle. A near 1/2 OZ of American Gold, this
    coin would be a nice addition to any collection.
